
KAMPALA, UGANDA – The gospel music world is in mourning following the sudden death of Musabyimana Gloriose, popularly known as Gogo Gloriose, who passed away in Kampala, Uganda, on September 4, 2025, at the age of 36. The beloved Rwandan gospel artist, celebrated for her soul-stirring songs of worship and praise, left an indelible mark on fans across East Africa and beyond.
Gogo’s death was confirmed by her media and promotions manager, Bikem wa Yesu, who expressed his grief in a heartfelt social media post: “R.I.P Gogo, what terrible news! God, strengthen my heart.” Bikem had accompanied Gogo to Uganda for a series of performances, including a highly anticipated appearance at Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s church in Kampala.
The artist’s final journey began on August 28, 2025, when she and her team traveled from Rwanda to Uganda for a revival event in Mbarara, held from August 29 to 31. Following the successful event, Gogo proceeded to Kampala for a business meeting with a company she was set to endorse. However, shortly after arriving, she fell ill. Initially, those around her believed it was a minor issue related to her pre-existing heart condition. Tragically, her health deteriorated rapidly, and she was rushed to Kyegera Doctors Center, where she passed away upon arrival.
Born in 1989 in Rwamagana, Eastern Province of Rwanda, Gogo overcame significant personal challenges, including the loss of both parents at a young age. A devoted member of the Anglican Church, she channeled her faith and resilience into her music, which resonated deeply with audiences. Her breakout hit, “Every Day, I Need Blood of Jesus,” catapulted her to fame, earning her a loyal following and cementing her status as a gospel sensation. Other songs, such as “Uwo Mwana,” further showcased her ability to blend heartfelt worship with messages of hope and education.
Gogo’s music was more than entertainment; it was a ministry that touched countless lives. Her recent release, “Goodbye, I’m Going,” now carries a haunting poignancy, serving as an unintended farewell to her fans worldwide. The song’s warm and reflective tone has left many reflecting on her legacy as a voice of faith and inspiration.
