AVAILABLE: EC Has Released the Harmonised Campaign Program for Presidential Candidates

Kampala, Uganda – The Electoral Commission (EC) has released the harmonized campaign program for all presidential candidates, marking a crucial milestone on the road to the 2026 General Election. This follows the successful conclusion of the Presidential Nomination exercise held on September 23 and 24, 2025, where candidates were duly nominated in accordance with Section 4 of the Presidential Elections Act, 2005 (as amended).

According to the Commission, the harmonized program is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity to all candidates as required under Section 22(1) of the Presidential Elections Act, which governs the conduct of campaigns.

The nominated presidential candidates who will traverse the country under this harmonized program include:

  • President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (National Resistance Movement – NRM)
  • Kasibante Robert (National Peasants’ Party – NPP)
  • Mabirizi Joseph (Conservative Party – CP)
  • Nandala Mafabi James Nathan (Forum for Democratic Change – FDC)
  • Mugisha Gregory Muntu Oyera (Alliance for National Transformation – ANT)
  • Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu (National Unity Platform – NUP)
  • Munyagwa Mubarak Sserunga (Common Man’s Party – CMP)
  • Bulira Frank Kabinga (Revolutionary People’s Party – RPP)

The Electoral Commission has reminded candidates and their supporters that campaigns must comply with existing electoral laws, public order management regulations, and guidelines to ensure peaceful participation by all stakeholders. The Commission further reiterated its commitment to enforce provisions of the law under the Presidential Elections Act and the Electoral Commission Act to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged and that Ugandans exercise their right to vote in a credible and transparent process.
