Kampala, Uganda– Whispers are swirling in the entertainment circles of Uganda that Anne Kansiime, the beloved “Africa’s Queen of Comedy,” might have quietly ended her engagement with reggae musician Abraham Tukahiirwa, popularly known as Skylanta. The couple, once celebrated for their heartwarming love story and the birth of their son, Selassie Ataho, in 2021, have been eerily silent about their relationship lately, sparking speculation that all might not be well in paradise.

The rumour mill kicked into high gear after fans noticed the absence of Skylanta in Kansiime’s recent social media posts, a stark contrast to the days when she proudly flaunted her engagement ring and gushed about her “Rasta man” in 2021. Sources close to the comedian, speaking on condition of anonymity, claim that the couple has been living separately for months, with Kansiime focusing on her comedy career and business ventures like Kansiime Backpackers, while Skylanta has been spotted performing solo gigs across Kampala without his once-inseparable fiancée by his side.

Adding fuel to the fire, a recent interview with NRG Radio has sent shockwaves through the rumour mill. In the candid chat, Kansiime dropped a bombshell, admitting, “We have not romanced with Skylanta for the past three years.” The statement, delivered with her signature wit but a hint of melancholy, has left fans and pundits alike dissecting what it could mean. Has their romance truly fizzled out, or was it a playful exaggeration meant to dodge deeper questions? Either way, the revelation has only intensified speculation about a breakup.

A cryptic post allegedly spotted on an unverified X account linked to a friend of the couple hinted at “irreconcilable differences” over parenting and career priorities. “She’s a global star, he’s a local vibe – it was bound to clash eventually,” the post reportedly read before it was deleted. While no official statement has come from either camp, the lack of joint appearances since their engagement announcement in June 2021 has left fans wondering if the wedding bells have been replaced by the sound of breaking hearts.

Insiders speculate that Kansiime’s hectic schedule, coupled with her past experiences of a high-profile marriage to Gerald Ojok that ended amid rumours of infidelity and pressure, might have made her wary of another public commitment. “Anne’s been burned before,” whispered one source. “She might have decided to keep this breakup under wraps to protect her son and her peace.”

Meanwhile, Skylanta’s recent lyrics in an unreleased track circulating among underground music circles have tongues wagging. Lines like “Love flew away, left me in the rain” are being dissected by fans as a possible nod to a split. Could this be the reggae artist’s way of hinting at a heartbreak?

As of now, neither Anne Kansiime nor Abraham Tukahiirwa has addressed the rumours directly beyond Kansiime’s eyebrow-raising NRG interview. With no fresh updates from major outlets to confirm or deny the breakup, the story remains a tantalizing mystery. Is this the end of a love story that once promised forever, or just a storm the couple is weathering in private? Only time—or perhaps a tell-all comedy skit from Kansiime herself—will reveal the truth. For now, Uganda watches, waits, and whispers.
